The Savannah Project on the Road

I was down in Jacksonville Monday and Tuesday attending a FIRE regional conference.  You can check out FIRE Fellowship on-line here.  There was good preaching on the topic of “The Sovereignty of God in you Home” but what I most enjoyed was the emphasis on fellowship. It was great to meet together with other like-minded pastors and I got a chance to share my vision for ministry here in Savannah.

It was especially good to be able to reconnect with some of my old friends from Faith Bible Churchin Sharpsburg, GA.  John Crotts, who is the pastor there, was instrumental in my decision to attend The Master’s Seminary.  After he came to the Atlanta area he and I began to meet regularly in what I now affectionately refer to as the Taco Bell meetings.  Those lunches were so important to me as I was thinking about ministry. There’s just no substitute for good fellowship with believers, especially those who are willing to speak the truth of scripture in love even when it’s difficult.
